We need to use our weapons. The Sword of The Spirit, for example, is so powerful. The adversary can't cross the blood, so one thing he does, is try to attack our minds. At that moment we have a choice to let him in and attack us, or fight with the word, The Sword of The Spirit.
“and take the helmet of deliverance; along with the sword given by the Spirit, that is, the Word of God.”
Ephesians 6:17 (CJB)
“See, the Word of God is alive! It is at work and is sharper than any double-edged sword — it cuts right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow, and it is quick to judge the inner reflections and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (CJB)
As soon as we get a thought of anxiety, fear, or depression we must go to scripture and see, those thoughts are not what Hashem intends for us. He is good, holy, and true! Positive, not negative thoughts. As our sages say in Kiddushin 30b
"Torah is compared to a life-giving elixir. An analogy can be drawn to a man that dealt his son a great blow and then placed a compress upon his wound, saying to him: “My son! So long as this compress remains upon your wound, you may eat what you desire, drink what you desire, and bathe in either hot or cold water and you need not fear that any harm will come to you by these actions. But if you remove this compress, your wound will surely give rise to boils.” So too has the Holy One, Blessed is He, said to Israel, “My son! I have created the Evil Inclination, and I have created Torah as its antidote. If you involve yourselves in Torah, you will not be delivered into its hand, as it is stated, “Certainly, if you correct yourself, you will prevail.” But if you do not involve yourselves in Torah, you will be delivered into its hand, as it is stated, but if you do not act well, sin rests at the door. And what is more, all the pursuits of the evil inclination concern you, as it is stated, “And you are its desire.” But if you wish, you can involve yourself in Torah, and thereby master it, as it is stated, “But you can conquer it.”
If we go to the scripture, read it and believe its promises with that childlike faith, at the moment that negative thought enters our mind, we will start to see a change!
As we are reminded by our Messiah Yeshua who said, “if you look at a woman in lust you have comitted adultery with her in your heart”. Yeshua was showing that negative thoughts give birth to negative reaction and it affects a person's inter-being and the essence of their home.
Nip those thoughts in the tuchus right away!
If we don't, we will see these thoughts get worse, and manifest in our lives. Yeshua on the stake overcame death, and was victories over the adversary!
We need to really grasp the adversary is a beaten foe. We need to grasp the truth, and promises Hashem has given us. He is not man that he should lie!
“God is not a human who lies or a mortal who changes his mind. When he says something, he will do it; when he makes a promise, he will fulfill it.” Numbers 23:19 (CJB)
We need to write down verses/psalms in scripture to have on hand when those thoughts enter our mind. Also, memorize them, like a soldier, we must be ready to fight!
“Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the Adversary. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Read those at that moment those negative thoughts enter our minds. Also, believe them. We can read, but we must read and believe! We have victory in His son, King Yeshua! So let us be victorious brethren!
“For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
I will be expanding on this in the near future, with each weapon we have in the "Armor Of God", and how to use them.
